Architecture

I've worked at architecture firms of all sizes for over 25 years. I am a licensed architect in the state of Missouri and a LEED Accredited Professional. I have years of experience in large scale assembly structures such as stadiums, ballparks, arenas, field houses, and marine show venues. I also have experience in other areas of architecture, including medical practices, labs, and hospitals. I'm proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, and related software.

I currently work for Populous as a Senior Architect and Senior Associate. Sterlinghershey.com is not affiliated with Populous, and all posts and opinions are my own.

I worked at ACI Boland Architects as a project architect on education and multifamily projects.

I previously worked for Populous as a Senior Associate and Senior Architect as a project architect on a new NHL arena.

I was an Associate and project architect at AECOM (formerly an Ellerbe Becket office) in the sports and medical practices, where I worked on minor league baseball, Division I college basketball, Division I college football, a NFL stadium, hospitals, and related athletics facilities projects.

I worked as a project architect for PGAV Architects. PGAV is a general practice firm, with specialized knowledge in the areas destination consulting (zoos, theme parks and similar venues), research laboratories (educational and commercial), higher education and commercial developments. PGAV worked in sustainable architecture, incorporating green practices into its daily design work.

I was an Associate at HOK Sport+Venue+Event, now known as Populous. HOK SVE specialized in sports stadiums and related venues. I worked on stadiums, arenas, and minor league ballparks, world class venues, and major league facilities, including Heinz Field (Steelers NFL stadium) and Wembley National Stadium (London, UK).

Some of the team facilities and stadiums I've worked on over the years.

In my early years out of school, I worked for J. Christopher Gale and Company, a small firm specializing in hospital and medical work, as well as general architecture practice.

I'm a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and spent a year studying in Copenhagen, Denmark.
